What a diverse group we were, with a wealth of life experience to write about. Nostalgic stories of home and childhood, living and working in England and elsewhere, the military life, farming life, camper van adventures, working at the heart of prestige companies, hard times and good times, inspirational and successful campaigning to ensure that Denman College continues to enable women to continue to enjoy day and residential courses meeting like-minded friends, learning new crafts, arts and lifestyle experiences in a safe supportive environment.
We learned from each other, appreciating the unique life stories which emerged. Thank you to the staff at Denman College for our clean cosy comfortable rooms and all that delicious food (and drink)!

Writing your life story or memoir with a specialist life story writing facilitator and a supportive group of like-minded people is a wonderfully reflective and enjoyable occupation.
This course is relaxed, friendly and informal, designed to give you all the help and inspiration you need to plan, write and organise your own unique life story, creating an enduring record of your life and times.
We’ll revisit and recapture tales from the older generation of your family, along with memories of childhood, school days, work and family life. Writing your life story /memoir adds a new personal dimension to a family history project, capturing a piece of social history, passing on your family’s unique heritage and connecting with future generations.
No experience of writing is needed, beginners are welcome, and all the stationery and folders you’ll need are included.
Price includes a comfortable ensuite room with tea/coffee making facilities and varied menus offering a selection of delicious meals, including buffet style cooked breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, tea in the afternoon, and three course evening dinner with coffee/tea served to your table.
