Thank you to all the lovely talented women who worked so wonderfully well together at Denman beginning to write their life stories. What a privilege it to share time with you all in that ‘Denman Bubble’.

We’ve heard about the problems of escaping haymaking to roam on a deserted American Airbase which turned out not to be deserted: We’ve shared the adventures of ‘Polly Parrot’ especially those involving summer schools and ‘End Games’; We’ve heard from a 7 year old reluctant migrant, leaving Dublin and arriving in Wales, without her scooter; We’ve heard about falling in love with all things Italian, Adventures in television (almost!) and a narrow escape from being stranded in the South of France as a holiday rep with a company which folded: We’ve travelled through the UK in a lorry with legs in a plaster cast during Silver Jubilee year. We’ve had magical story tellers and had tears of laughter and just a few of the other kind too. What a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you all for the fun, and the support and the kindness. Writing your life story or memoir with a specialist life story writing facilitator and a supportive group of like-minded people is a wonderfully reflective and enjoyable occupation.

This course is relaxed, friendly and informal, designed to give you all the help and inspiration you need to plan, write and organise your own unique life story, creating an enduring record of your life and times.

We’ll revisit and recapture tales from the older generation of your family, along with memories of childhood, school days, work and family life. Writing your life story /memoir adds a new personal dimension to a family history project, capturing a piece of social history, passing on your family’s unique heritage and connecting with future generations.

No experience of writing is needed, beginners are welcome, and all the stationery and folders you’ll need are included.

Price includes a comfortable ensuite room with tea/coffee making facilities and varied menus offering a selection of delicious meals, including buffet style cooked breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, tea in the afternoon, and three course evening dinner with coffee/tea served to your table.
