Thank you to all the lovely talented women who worked so wonderfully well together at Denman beginning to write their life stories. What a privilege it to share time with you all in that ‘Denman Bubble’.
We’ve heard about the problems of escaping haymaking to roam on a deserted American Airbase which turned out not to be deserted: We’ve shared the adventures of ‘Polly Parrot’ especially those involving summer schools and ‘End Games’; We’ve heard from a 7 year old reluctant migrant, leaving Dublin and arriving in Wales, without her scooter; We’ve heard about falling in love with all things Italian, Adventures in television (almost!) and a narrow escape from being stranded in the South of France as a holiday rep with a company which folded: We’ve travelled through the UK in a lorry with legs in a plaster cast during Silver Jubilee year. We’ve had magical story tellers and had tears of laughter and just a few of the other kind too. What a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you all for the fun, and the support and the kindness. Women’s Words Matter – keep writing.
