Creative Writing for Well Being

Creative writing is therapeutic, relaxing and good for us. It enhances our well-being and boosts self-confidence. On this course we’ll begin by exploring gentle routes into creative writing using music, location, colours, essential oils and the seasons.

We’ll move on to look at a variety of writing genres to help you identify which could be your creative writing ‘home’. You might begin journaling, or writing short stories, or enjoy writing from personal experience and begin a memoir, you might become a diarist, a novelist, a playwright or explore your poetic self.

Having discovered what type of creative writing best suits your personality, interests, lifestyle and skills then we’ll begin writing and see how your writerly talents blossom when they are nurtured within a small like-minded group with an experienced tutor. We will enjoy interesting taught classroom sessions, programmed one to one tutorials, and personal writing time.

Whether you’ve never written anything but shopping lists, or whether you’ve been a secret scribbler for years, come and experience the gentle joys of creative expressive writing and find your own unique inner creative voice on this relaxed and friendly course,which is suitable for all ages and abilities, including those with no experience of writing.

Price includes comfortable spacious single ensuite rooms (some double/twin rooms available) all with tea/coffee making facilities and full board, with varied menus of delicious meals, including cooked breakfasts, morning coffee, lunch, tea and cake in the afternoon and a three course evening dinner with tea/coffee.
