Thank you to all the Life Story Writers who travelled to Denman to begin writing their life stories. We learned that there is no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ life as we wrote stories about ‘rags’ to riches – amazing women of the 20th century who survived and prospered against all the odds. Tales of adventurous children intent on escape, and husbands with an international fan club! We shared stories of ambitious building projects and life in a temporary caravan encampment, and shared our experiences of living and working with the challenges of autism including Asperger’s syndrome. You were all so modest about your achievements and talents! I hope our paths cross again and I hope you enjoyed writing (and talking) about your extraordinary lives as much as I enjoyed meeting and working with you.
